Call for joining the Study-Circle of CIM

Systematic studies / research and publications in the domain of Innovation Management is one of the primary objectives of the Council of Innovation Management (CIM). In pursuance of this objective, it has been decided that the council will have a study circle, which shall be formed with the voluntary participation of such personnel who may contribute in the systematic study of the subject. The further particulars of the Study Circle will be as follows-.

Activities of the Study Circle:

The voluntary members of study circle will conduct theme-based studies via case-studies, conclaves, conferences & seminars, surveys, group interaction with internal/external experts or authorities or policy makers, etc. The activities may be in online, offline or in hybrid modes. Peer learning mechanism will be followed.
The council will arrange, at its discretion, publication of the outcomes of the studies in form of policy-papers/ online articles/ books / chroniclers / conference proceedings/ vdeos / working papers, etc, with due credits for the participants in the respective studies.

Subject Matters under study/ research:

The domains of studies/ research will include, but not limited to, the following –

• Public policies related with innovation and entrepreneurship
• Governance, Operation and Sustainability of Incubation Centres
• Funding for Innovations & entrepreneurship
• R&D lead entepreneurship frameworks
• Translational research frameworks
• Technology Scaling up frameworks
• Industry-academia collaboration mechanisms
• Business Innovation
• Intellectual Property Rights & Technology Transfer
• Regulatory matters related with innovation and entrepreneurship
• Management aspects of research in academic or non-academic sectors

Operating Mechanism of the studies/ research:

Any member of the study circle can propose to the secretariat any theme for initiating a study. After approval of the proposal, the secretariat will invite the circle members to participate in the study of the proposed theme. Participation in any study theme will be voluntary, and a member may simultaneously participate in multiple studies. The proposing member of a study will be marked as the study leader, at the discretion of the proposing member.

Additionally, a member is also free to submit one’s articles directly for publications under the peer- reviewed discourse of CIM. The details of submission to CIM-discourse are available at the Invitation for CIM-Discourse on Innovation Management.

Circle Membership:

• Membership in the Study Circle will be only by invitation or selection.
• Eligibility: experience in any of the following sectors – R&D, Industry, Academic sector, R&D based startups, Innovation management, Incubation centres, Intellectual Property, Technology transfer, Public Policies, Business Management, Innovation funding, other relevant domains.
• The membership will be initially for one year, which may be extended with mutual consent
• Currently there are no fee for membership in the council.
• The views expressed by the study members shall be treated strictly as their personal views, and not that of the council or of the respective organisations of the members’ affiliations.
• The decision of the secretariat shall be final on selection of membership.

Modification:

The council may modify the functioning of the study-circle as and when needed, in just and equitable manner.

Operation:

Nominated members of the secretariat on time-to-time basis will take required operational decisions and take forward its activities.The decisions of the council shall be final.
